ABOUT THIS HOLIDAY
Summer's Dawn is a celebration of fertility and passion. The sunlight is warm and filled with life. It is a time to do something spontaneous or make extra time for romance. On this threshold of summer, the walls thin between our world and the Realm of Luminescence, where the eternally youthful resides. The spirits of this realm bring hope, joy, mirth, and a little playful mischief to our world.

Summer's Dawn celebrations are a mixture of the Roman flower festival Floralia, the Druid fire festival, and the Nordic midsummer festivals and usually include a maypole and bond fire.

Dishes that include strawberries or roses are great for this celebration. Salads with edible flowers nicely combine the grounding greens of early spring and the exuberant aroma of the blooming land. Traditionally meat from cows or goats were cooked over a flame, but any grilled food works. In more recent times, spicy foods and chocolate have been added to the menu to symbolize the passion of the season. Drinks that include some alcohol and some fruit or flowers are also great symbolically.
