Brown Sugar Shortbread

Picture
WHAT YOU NEED:
2 cups flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 dark brown sugar
¾ tsp fine salt
1 cup cold butter, cut into 1-inch chunks
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 325 F.
In a large baking bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and work in with fingers or pastry cutter until it resembles a course meal. Do not overwork.
Press dough, evenly, into an ungreased 8- or 9-inch baking pan, round or square. With a fork, prick dough all over.
Bake about 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares or wedges while still warm. Let cool before serving.
