French Toast with Berries
Ingredients:
2 cups blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and/or blueberries 8 thick-cut slices of bread of choice: sourdough, whole grain, Texas toast 3 eggs 1 cup milk 2-3 tsp Soul Warming Cinnamon Blend butter 1 Tbsp sugar mascarpone cheese or whipped cream cheese maple syrup |
Method:
Rinse and prep berries, slice if using strawberries. Place in bowl and sprinkle sugar over berries. Stir to coat berries with sugar. Set aside.
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and Soul Warming Cinnamon Blend
Heat skillet to a medium heat.
Place sliced bread in the egg/milk mixture. Turn bread slice over to coat both sides, gently press to increase absorption. Add extra cinnamon blend to egg/milk mixture between slices if need be.
Add 1 Tbsp of butter to the skillet, when melted, place bread slices in skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides and center is slightly puffy.
Place French toast on plate, spread with mascarpone cheese, add berries and drizzle with warm maple syrup.
