French Toast with Berries
For a sweeter dish, heat a some maple syrup and drizzle over the top.
Ingredients:
2 cups blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and/or blueberries 8 thick-cut slices of bread of choice: sourdough, whole grain, Texas toast 3 eggs 1 cup milk 2-3 tsp Soul Warming Cinnamon Blend butter 1 Tbsp sugar mascarpone cheese or whipped cream cheese |
Method:
Rinse and prep berries, slice if using strawberries. Place in bowl and sprinkle sugar over berries. Stir to coat berries with sugar. Set aside.
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and Soul Warming Cinnamon Blend
in a large flat skillet, melt 1 Tbsp butter over medium heat.
Place sliced bread in the egg/milk mixture. Turn bread slice over to coat both sides, gently press to increase absorption. The cinnamon blend will get absorbed faster than the egg mixture, so we like to add additional spice between batches.
Place bread slices in skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides and center is slightly puffy.
Place French toast on plate, spread with mascarpone cheese, and add berries.
